Crisis Residential Network

Michigan

Michigan has 22 crisis residential units (CRUs), with the most recent home opening in 2018. Michigan's crisis homes follow Adult Foster Care (AFC) guidelines and range in size from 6 to 16 beds. CRUs are operated either directly by the local Community Mental Health (CMH) agency, or by a contracted nonprofit organization.

Michigan CRUs participate in a monthly phone conference as part of the Michigan Crisis Residential Network, discussing best practices and troubleshooting challenging issues. The group began collecting outcome measures in 2016.
